VIDEO: A northwest Reno fire damaged a home Saturday morning and a falling ceiling injured a firefighter, but he was treated and released from a hospital. The Reno Fire Department initially received a call about a brush fire about 6:35 a.m., but while responding were told it was a home on fire in the 2200 block of Gatewood Drive, Battalion Chief Dick Nachtsheim said.

Clark County fire officials said a house that was under renovation in the east valley caught on fire early Saturday morning. Firefighters were called to the 3900 block of Syracuse Drive, near South Sandhill Road and East Harmon Avenue, just before 2:30 a.m., fire officials said. When they arrived, firefighters noted the "advanced condition" of the fire on the second floor of the house and the Clark County Fire Department called for a second alarm.

VIDEO: Clark County Fire Department crews are responding to a structure fire near the Las Vegas Strip Monday morning. The fire is at an office building at 3900 Paradise Road. CCFD Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan said the fire broke out at 3 a.m. at the two-story commercial structure. Buchanan said they weren't aware of anyone inside the building and officials don't know the origin of the fire.

PHOTO: A homemade barbecue is to blame for a fire that damaged two east Las Vegas homes and displaced seven people, officials say. Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters responded to a fire near Eastern Avenue and Oakey Boulevard around 10:15 p.m. on June 16. When crews arrived, two houses were on fire.

VIDEO: An investigation is underway after crews contained a fire at a house on Cambrian Way off of north McCarran Blvd in north Reno. The fire was first reported just after 9 a.m. on Friday. Firefighters say the fire started at the front of the house, then spread to the attic where a part of the roof collapsed.

VIDEO: A mansion on Welpman Way on an unincorporated Clark County island inside of Henderson city limits was destroyed late Thursday in a fire that smoldered well into Friday afternoon. Deputy Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck said the county sent a 1,500-gallon tanker truck to help Henderson Fire crews douse the flames when they discovered the nearest fire hydrant was a mile away, and they would have to fill up there and then head back to the scene.

Two dogs are dead and four people are without a home after a house fire in northwest Las Vegas. This happened near Vegas and Durango drives shortly after 2 p.m. Firefighters say no people were at home when the fire occurred but four dogs were. Two of the dogs died in the fire, the other two escaped.

A family says squatters staying next door are to blame for causing a fire that destroyed their home Thursday. “I said we gotta get out of here the house is on fire and its really bad this time," says David Butterbaugh. His family escaped with seconds to spare after their home caught fire near Stewart and Eastern around 1:30 in the afternoon.

An investigation is underway after a fire broke out outside an apartment building near Smithridge Drive late Thursday night. Firefighters responded on scene just after 11:30 p.m. to find a bush on fire. Crews tell us the fire climbed up the building into the attic where the firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.

Crews from the Clark County Fire Department said the cause of a fire inside the Westgate Resort early Thursday morning was under investigation. According to fire officials, firefighters received several calls of a fire at 3000 Paradise Road about 12:57 a.m. CCFD sent five engines, a truck, two rescues and two battalion chiefs to the scene.

Carson City Fire Department was called late Wednesday morning to a fully engulfed vehicle fire in the westbound lane of Highway 50 West on the valley side, around a mile past Golf Club Drive. The call came into dispatch at 11:23 a.m. regarding a vehicle fire. First responders arriving on scene reported that all occupants were out of the SUV and that the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

The Reno Fire Department is reminding people not to burn weeds within city limits, as a homeowner burning weeds in southwest Reno Wednesday afternoon had the fire get away. Firefighters went to the home in the 2700 block of West Lakeridge Shores just before 5 p.m. The home was briefly threatened by the fire, though fire crews quickly knocked it down, the fire department said.

Nevada's attorney general is recommending approval of a $25 million settlement with homeowners and others who sought more than $300 million in damages from the state after a prescribed burn escaped and destroyed 24 homes south of Reno. Lawyers for 105 plaintiffs who sued the Nevada Division of Forestry told a judge last month they had reached a tentative settlement that would require approval by the three-member state Board of Examiners.

County Manager Jeff Page says the Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Protection District was reported shortly before 4 p.m. June 10, 2019 at the River Split Ranch on Highway 208. Firefighters found heavy brush and grass burning.
