Brush fire burns more than 200 acres in Big Bend state park near Laughlin

VIDEO: Multiple agencies were responding to a more than 200-acre brush fire at Big Bend state park near Laughlin, Nevada on Sunday. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that Needles Highway was shut down in both directions about 3:30 p.m. due to the fire and asked the public to avoid the area.

4 displaced after house fire in central Las Vegas Valley

PHOTO: A house fire in the central Las Vegas Valley left three adults and a child displaced on Sunday, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said. Crews were called to the 2300 block of Willoughby Avenue, near North Eastern and East Washington avenues, just before 10:30 a.m., fire officials said. A one-story house had caught on fire and firefighters had the flames under control within 30 minutes.

The fires are mostly accidental and caused by curious kids. VIDEO: The Reno Fire Department says crews quickly knocked down multiple dump trucks on fire just before 9:30 p.m. Friday night at Sunshine Lane. Our crew on scene said there were reports of explosions in the area but Reno Police said it wasn't anything serious. They said it was either tires or propane tanks exploding.

Bus hits pedestrian in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a crash involving an RTC bus and a pedestrian. The crash took place at 6:23 p.m. near Grand Central Parkway and Bonneville Avenue. One person has been sent to the hospital with unknown injuries. Police are investigating the incident.

PHOTOS: Three vehicles went up in flames after a fire sparked at a car dealership Thursday morning in the central valley, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue. Crews were sent to B&B Auto Sales near Vegas and Rancho drives around 3:35 a.m., Fire & Rescue said. Three cars and a large shed caught fire before firefighters were able to knock down the flames.

About 170 firefighters are battling hot weather and dry conditions in a rugged part of northern Nevada's Stillwater Mountains where a lightning-sparked wildfire has nearly doubled in size but is threatening no structures about 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Reno. Temperatures climbed into the high 90s Wednesday in the area northeast of Fallon and the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge about 75 miles (120 kilometers) south of Winnemucca.

Northern Nevada first responders turn out for the Battle of the Badges

Body found in Las Vegas storm drain

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue received a call at 2:37 a.m. Aug. 14 about a deceased male in a storm drain near West Bonanza Road and City Parkway. When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered the man was in the drainpipe about 30 feet below the road. Due to the difficulty in reaching the body, the fire department called in the Technical Rescue Team, Heavy Rescue 44.

Investigation underway after fire at Deco Apartments in Sparks

VIDEO: The Sparks Fire Department says two construction workers were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at Deco Apartments in Victorian Square early Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters say construction crews reported the fire which broke out on the 6th floor of the building. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control.

Fire does $60,000 damage to northwest Las Vegas house

A fire that started on a covered patio spread into a house in northwest Las Vegas and did an estimated $60,000 in damage, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials. No one was home at the time, and nobody was injured, officials said. The fire was reported about 11 a.m. today in the 8100 block of Cimarron Ridge Drive, near Cimarron Road and Vegas Drive, officials said.

66-acre wild fire southeast of Dayton contained

There was a 66-acre fire reported Saturday southeast of Dayton and northeast of Lyon Peak. As of 4 p.m. Sunday it was contained. The Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center said the Clifton Fire near Clifton Flats was being fought with air and ground resources. It was reported around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019.

Man accused of intentionally setting fire to North Las Vegas house

A man was arrested in connection with a house fire in North Las Vegas last week, according to the North Las Vegas Fire Department. The fire happened on Sunday, Aug. 4 about 9:20 a.m., officials said, in a house on the 2100 block of Bennett Street, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Losee Road. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of the firefighters' arrival.
